Convert CIMB statements to Excel, AutoCount or SQL Account

Krani reads CIMB PDF statements, checks the running balance, and sends the finished entries into AutoCount, SQL Account or Excel. CIMB is a major Malaysian banking group with a large base of SME business accounts.

How to download your CIMB statement

For business accounts on BizChannel@CIMB, click "Account Statement" from the left-side menu, select "Single Account" (or "Multiple Accounts"), choose the statement month, then select "PDF Statement" and click "Generate" to download. See CIMB's own BizChannel guide for the current steps and screenshots, since online banking menus do change over time.

Business and current account statements are often kept in a different section of online banking to personal savings statements, so make sure you're pulling the statement for the right account type before you upload it.

Once you have the PDF, upload it to Krani, either directly or by forwarding it from the client's WhatsApp chat.

Every line, checked against the statement

From a CIMB statement, Krani pulls out the date, transaction description, debit or credit amount, and running balance for every line, then checks that the running balance matches what's printed on the statement before handing it off.

Whether the statement runs to two pages or twenty, Krani reads every line the same way. Credit cost is based on the number of pages, at the same 3-credits-per-page rate as every other bank Krani supports, so a long month-end statement costs the same per page as a short one.

Importing into AutoCount and SQL Account

Once a CIMB statement is extracted, each line is matched to the client's existing chart of accounts and either posted directly into AutoCount or SQL Account, or exported as a ready-to-import file if you'd rather review first. The same statement can also be reconciled against receipts already on file before it's posted.
